My mom and dad have had Simeon since he was 1yr old.  My dad had wanted a Basenji for some time and couldn't wait for a puppy.  So he found an ad in the paper and paid $400 for Simeon.  When we went to see him, he had been neglected and abused by the family that owned him.  They had young children that would pull on his ears and tail.  He was standing on the dining room table when we came into their house.  Yet, even though we knew he would be a trouble dog, my dad and he formed a bond that day.  And from that day forward nearly nine years, Simeon knew he belonged to dad.  Simeon was my ambassador for the breed and even though he was aggressive and has given me a few scars to the face...I knew he still loved me in his own way.  This picture was the last time I photographed him...on Christmas day 2006 when dad got a RoboRaptor from mom.

Sampson

November 1997-December 2007

Sampson came to live with us when he was a puppy.  He was a Smooth Fox Terrier/Cairn Terrier/Jack Russel Terrier mix.  He was a little spitfire when he was younger and was tempered by Simeon when he became older.  It is sad that my parents lost both their dogs in one year.

We miss you buddy.
